Funke Koleosho's King Prawn Pops
In this post, I demonstrate how to make a dish suitable to serve as a starter. Again really simple and straight forward, this dish is bound to please your guests.

Not much to write about this recipe....the pictures tell a better story!

What you need
  • Large raw king prawns
  • Beniseeds or sesame seeds
  • Carrots
  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Spicy ata dindin relish (Get recipe for ata dindin here. Alternatively use your preferred dip or pepper sauce)
  • Coconut oil
  • Some lollipop sticks
  • Cocktail glasses

What to do
  1. Shell, de-vein and wash the king prawns thoroughly. Pan fry the prawns using some coconut oil. This should take around 4 minutes.
  2. Transfer the cooked prawns into a bowl and add a generous amount of some pre-made spicy pepper-sauce/relish of choice.
  3. Sprinkle some toasted beniseeds/sesame seeds to cover the prawns then place them one at a time on lollipop sticks.
  4. Portion equal amounts of shredded carrots and iceberg lettuce into cocktail glasses and stick the prawn pops in. Ready!
